PART-TIME PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Posted 8/22/2010  Our district is looking for a part-time health/phys. ed high school certified instructor to work with our students on independent classes. The part-time teacher would need to be able to spend time in both of our career centers one day a week at each site. Our centers are Fairfield Career Center, Carroll, Ohio and Eastland Career Center, Groveport, Ohio. I thought I would check to see if you knew of any retired health/phys ed teachers that may be interested.

Thanks

RETIRED COLUMBUS TEACHERS NEEDED

Posted 8/16/2008

We have moved from 58 to 80+ schools and need more Instructional Coaches.  The focus of the grant has changed to target specifically classroom instruction, assisting teachers in their classrooms, planning their lessons, asking reflective questions, and examining their own practice.  It looks like 7 high schools, 21 middle, and 52 elementary schools.

This involves instructional coaching of teachers in the Columbus City School system for either 15 hours a week if you work at 1 school or 30 hours per week if you work at 2 schools and carries no benefits.

The Columbus Coaching Project, with Instructional Coaches in Columbus'  lowest-performing schools, is fully in place for the next school year (2008-2009).   We are taking applications and answering questions about the coaching initiative, which is assisting and supporting Columbus teachers, and helping interpret data and planning classroom strategies for improvement based on data provided by the OAT's, and quarterly benchmarks. Remember, we are looking predominantly for retired teachers/educators who will work at least 3 days a week for $20 to 35 an hour as independent contractors. We are looking for personable people who have great people skills as well as the ability to assist teachers specifically in reading and math literacy.

If you or someone you know is interested, please contact John Dean, Grant Facilitator, Educational Service Center of Franklin County at 573-1572, or at my cell at 623-7675, or by email at john.dean@fcesc.org
